About Loreplay
Meet the Host:
Dayna Pereira is the host, producer, writer, and resident troublemaker behind Loreplay. A Pittsburgh native who has spent her adult life in San Diego, she traded snow for sunshine but kept the Yinzer instinct to call it like she sees it. Dayna has a deep love for ghost stories, historical fuckery, cursed objects, cryptids, and the weirdest corners of history.. and an even deeper love for checking the receipts. She’s the kind of person who will happily tell you a haunting legend, then pull out the primary sources and explain exactly where the story went off the rails (and who profited from it). Her approach is equal parts skeptic and believer, with a generous helping of dark humor and zero patience for historical nonsense. Witch trials, “harmless” folklore with a body count, institutions that wrote the history they wanted: Dayna names it, roasts it, and makes sure the people who got erased or silenced, finally get their say. She’s unapologetically pro human rights, pro women, and pro telling the truth, even when the truth is less tidy than the ghost tour version. She believes humanity has sucked for a really, really REALLY long time, and that the best response is to learn from it, laugh at it, and become the most feral version of yourself to make sure it doesn't happen again... All with big love and probably a glass of wine.

About the Show
Hey there, My Fellow Lore Lovers. Welcome to Loreplay. The show where we dig up haunted history, creepy folklore, and paranormal weirdness and poke it with a stick. I tell you the legend, then I tell you what the actual sources say.. and then we sit together in the gap between the two, because that’s where the good stuff lives. Loreplay is skeptic-meets-believer. I love a ghost story as much as anyone, but I love digging into if we were fed some bullshit, or if the sources check out more. If a “fact” has been passed around for 150 years without a single receipt, we’re going to talk about it. We also don’t pretend history was some charming olde timey costume party. A lot of what gets packaged as spooky folklore was really people in power hurting people with none... women burned as witches, the poor locked away, the “different” made into monsters. Loreplay calls that out. Loudly. With jokes. So, to be clear about where this show stands: we’re pro human rights, pro truth, and deeply anti historical bullshit.
